Black/Afrikan Centered Homeschool Resources

Homeschool Season

This summer, I will have the honor of presenting at multiple homeschool conferences and expos : TaylorMade (completed), Liberated Minds Homeschool Expo, Black Family Homeschool Educators and Scholars, and Melanin Village’s Homeschool Together Conference.

While there are a number of curriculums available, there are a limited amount of homeschool resources that are decolonized and not Eurocentric.  However, the number of resources available has been consistently growing which has made my life easier when it comes to finding supplements and outsourcing.

This post is dedicated to the resources that are Black/Afrikan centered (and decolonized) that I currently use in my homeschool.

If you are familiar with additional resources that fit the above category, please send me a message.

If you have a product that fits the above criteria, I would love to add it to this list.

*Note, many of these resources overlap subjects.  Most of the workbooks contain writing and history components.  The games cover several core subjects.

And, a whole lot of books.  All the resources we use in our homeschool aren’t developed or created for Black/Afrikan families, but this post is focused on resources we use that are Black-owned.

*Recommendations*

I have not personally used these resources.  If they are listed below, I am either aware of them or it has been recommended by another homeschooling family that has a Black/Afrikan centered homeschool practice.

I had the opportunity to hear one of the founders speak during the Liberated Minds Homeschool Expo and plan on enrolling my daughter in fall courses.

Check out this Black owned and woman owned curriculum for your K-4th grade workbook needs.
