Live Webinars are Back!

I received an email last week from Outschool asking if I would be willing to do an interview with Acorn + CNBC.  I agreed.  I was expecting the article to come out at the end of March/early April.  Then I received a phone call that it was going to be published the next day.

I agreed to the interview because the platform has been an absolute blessing to my life.  I have been able to work on developing my workbooks, building curriculum, working on my own website, and still “homeschooling at home doing regular stuff” with my daughter without becoming overwhelmed or overworked.

I did not imagine the article would draw so much attention as I previously interviewed with Forbes and Business Insider about my success on the platform.  However, the number of emails, DMs, PMs, and even phone calls (which is wildly inappropriate), messages on my teaching page (which won’t get a response as that is where I communicate with parents and students), I understand there are a lot of unanswered questions.

How did I do it?

How can YOU do it?

Is it real?  I have had people question if I was honest about the amount of money I make and the number of hours I spend working, even when I have actively posted my income and hours.  I get it, it seems unbelievable to make $10k working 10-15 hours/week.  But, I do.  It was not an overnight achievement.

Quick Math: Earnings: $13,915.54 Hours: 40.50 13915.54/40.5 = 343.59 343.49/4 = 8.5 hours

I have three tips for growing as an online educator:

  1. Consistency
  2. Updating curriculum – this means you must be open to feedback and applying changes as needed.
  3. Building relationships.

The same week the article was published, I had the opportunity to speak with @travelwithclem about my own website and building my business.  I will continue to share what I know and what I have learned on this thirteen-year adventure.

If you have an interest in learning more, please join me on March 21st at 12 pm EST for a live webinar about building an online teaching business.

If you have any questions you would like me to answer during the live ZOOM call, please feel free to comment below.  If you can’t join, my Ebook sale has been extended through March.  The price is the date.
