Description
This 9-week self-paced course focuses on persuasive and argumentative writing, helping students learn how to clearly express, support, and defend their ideas with confidence.
Students begin by forming strong, clear claims based on their opinions. As the course progresses, they strengthen their writing by adding reasons, examples, and evidence, and by organizing their ideas into structured paragraphs and full essays. Midway through the course, students are introduced to argumentative writing, where they learn how to consider multiple viewpoints and respond to opposing ideas.
In the final weeks, students transition from writing to speaking by turning their essays into persuasive speeches. They will learn how to engage an audience and present their ideas clearly and confidently through recorded practice and final submission.
